A blog for those who love wood surfboards, modern and antique, whether hollow, chambered, composite, or just adding wood details to a standard foam blank.
Nice wave choice too. You go Mickey! Any idea on the location? BTW, he kind of looks like legendary surfer and diver Sammy Lee of Hawaii, of whom I surfed with back in the 70's.
I enjoy this site! I've pub lished several essays over on www.theinertia.com. I am just over seventy and started surfing last August in the warm H20 down at Cocoa Beach, FLA. I have a 9'longboard and will surf in the chilly waters of Lake Ontario when the temps in the water rise to 50F or so.Right now, water temp in still in the thirties!! Also have a skim board. Have to keep up the flexibility in the knees for eacvh of these sports,as we all do. Heads up and keep the stoke as long as we can! Dave in Rochester,NY
Mickey's not 80.....Not even close. But he is in great shape.
ReplyDeleteAs long as he's over 50! (the "80" was the photographer's title of the photo)
